Why We Walk for Friendship Circle as Team Attisha. When you have children with disabilities and profound medical complexities, not everyone knows how to step in—not because they don’t care, but because this world is unfamiliar. It’s outside the comfort of “normal.” I was a first-time mother to identical twins who weren’t meeting any milestones. I was living in a brand-new state, far from family—nearly 2,000 miles away. The medical reports for my daughters felt overwhelming: ✔️ White matter of the brain ✔️ Intellectual disability ✔️ Speech apraxia (nonverbal) ✔️ Cerebral palsy ✔️ Epilepsy ✔️ Angelman Syndrome Their prognosis: lifelong, 24/7 care. The list seemed endless. But here’s what I knew deep down: I would never accept “no” when it came to my daughters’ potential. I believed they could be more than what any medical report said. Our lives changed forever the day we found Friendship Circle—a nonprofit organization that helps people with disabilities not just live, but thrive. I wasn’t alone anymore. Many families were silently walking the same hard road. I had been searching in all the wrong places for hope, connection, and understanding—until Friendship Circle gave us a safe, welcoming space. We walk for Friendship Circle not just for our family, but for every family searching for a glimpse of hope. For the parents standing at the foot of what feels like an impossible mountain. Because at Friendship Circle, my daughters are seen, celebrated, and loved for who they truly are. Words aren’t even needed—the staff and volunteers just get them. Recently, our daughter Katalina (age 9) was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Every day in the hospital she wore her Friendship Circle t-shirt and held her rosary—for strength, for courage. Klaudia her twin sister —who once needed her walker and wheelchair to get around camp—now runs onto the campgrounds full of joy. 👉 Never let a diagnosis define what you can become. Our girls needed a place where people would pour belief, encouragement, and positivity into them. They found it here. We found it here. ⸻ Friendship Circle — You’ve changed the world’s view of disability: from limitation to limitless possibility. With your donation, you become part of this purpose—helping the most medically and cognitively fragile children/adult’s live their best lives. From our family to yours: thank you for walking this journey with us. Your kindness is a blessing. Love Always Wins, ❤️ Team Attisha
