Alyssa has grown so much this year through Friendship Circle’s vocational program.
Since last year’s Walk4Friendship, she has taken a big step—joining the front of house at Soul Café. It was something brand new, and she is thriving. She’s learning to greet guests, follow routines, and feel comfortable and confident in a public-facing role.
She continues to train in the back of house as well, developing kitchen skills, learning to stay on task, and becoming more independent each day. She now attends the program four days a week—and we see the difference it makes.
She talks more. She takes more initiative. She believes in herself. We see that growth not just at Friendship Circle, but everywhere she goes. This summer, she attended a camp outside of Friendship Circle—and walked in with confidence and connection that stood out.
As her parents, we are so proud of the young woman she is becoming. Friendship Circle has given her a place where she is seen, supported, and challenged—and where she feels like she belongs.
